China says it will start humanoid robot mass production quite soon.
Chinese authorities said that they want to start advanced humanoid robot mass production in 2025. The question is: what does "advanced humanoid robot" mean? Does that mean independently operating robots or remote-controlled robots? There are also variants that static supercomputers control robots over the Internet.
The control and operation process itself is running automatically. But control software is in the supercomputer that is in the supercomputer center. And that system controls human-looking robots. There are also three levels of robot automation.
1) Full automation. The robot notices something. And then it starts the action that this thing requires without human acceptance.
2A) Semi-automation. The robot sees something and alarms the operators. The operator selects the required action from the menu and allows the robot to give a response to that thing.
2B) Advanced semi-automation. The robot sends an alarm to the operator and suggests the action. Operators can accept the action or deny it. Then operator selects a more suitable action from the menu.
3) Remote-control. The operator controls the robot all the time. This system is also suitable for making new action modules for robots. When a robot sees something that is not in its memory, it alarms the operator. The operator uses the remote control to make the mission same time while the operator drives the robot.
The system stores given commands into macro, and then the robot can use that model for similar missions. The operator can make this kind of advanced macro in simulation. When the simulated mission is ready, the operator can download it into the robots.

Chinese robots can serve the PLA (People's Liberation Army). Without that institution's support. This type of research would not be possible in China.
When we think that China wants to start humanoid robot mass production we must remember that humanoid robots can turn all other vehicles into robots. Humanoid robots can drive cars and fly aircraft. They can use the same weapons and equipment as humans. And that allows them to do the same missions with humans.
Some part of this Chinese robot production and research serves the PLA (People's Liberation Army). Even in remote-controlled systems, the man-shaped robot can be a powerful tool. The robot can connect its control system to the fighter jets or tanks' digital radio.
That makes it possible for the controller can drive robots using augmented reality, where the robot sends its sensor data to the Virtual Reality systems. The humanoid robots can also have internal satellite communication tools. And that allows them to communicate with command centers on another side of the world.
We must realize that humanoid robots are extremely good tools for military and intelligence purposes. They can also operate in highly polluted areas and the middle of radioactive radiation. The humanoid robot can operate inside space suits.
Nuclear emergency crews can use those robots to shut down nuclear reactors in the case of an accident. The independently operating robots can be immune to electromagnetic radiation. The robot can use optical communication to keep in contact with controllers. The optical light fiber is immune to EM radiation.
Also, relay drones that use laser communication can operate with those "astronaut robots". The relay drone can be a quadcopter that operates in the same role as a communication satellite. Those drones receive laser communication system's data transmission. And resend that data in laser ray to ground-operating robots. The laser communication systems can control large entireties if that laser ray has a large effect area. The laser ray is driven through a light beam diffuse lens.
Or the laser can move and send its beam over the entire robot group. In that case, the laser message must have start and end marks. When the transmitting system sends a message. It can involve also information about how many bits that system will send during that message. When the receiving system gets the entire data transmission, it sends a mark that the data transfer is completed and the number of bits is the same as it should.
Humanoid robots might look like humans. They can walk on the streets and go shopping. But those robots can also be full of sensors. That makes them very good tools for intelligence and recon missions.
Those robots are like some kind of robot versions of Superman, with lasers in their eyes. The human-shape robots can also act as scanners. They can scan WiFi networks, and they might have laser microphones hidden in their camera eyes that allow their operators to hear everything, that people discussing. The seismic sensors in their feet make it possible. That those can feel seismic signals. Those robots can deliver eavesdropping tools and collect their signals. So they can act like measurement vehicles.
The thing is that humanoid robots are similar robots as well as other drones. Those systems can act like all other drone swarms and dronepacks. Sharing their data with other drones. And that makes those things act as an entirety where there are a lot of different automatic and semi-automatic systems that work as an entirety.
